What a pocket CFO is and what it does for your money

A financial director that fits on your phone: it knows your numbers, listens and prepares what you decide. Here is how it shows up day to day.

A financial director that fits on your phone

A CFO is the person who, in a company, knows at every moment how much money there is, where it is going and what is on its way. Almost nobody has one by their side, least of all someone who works for themselves or runs a small business. A pocket CFO is that same role, designed so anyone can have it at hand: a conversation on your phone instead of a spreadsheet.

At Dobits, the Agent does that job. It is not a search box with a new name or one more menu: it is an assistant that knows your balances, your transactions, your cards and your subscriptions, and answers with that data. You ask in your own words and it replies in plain language, with no jargon and no charts to decipher. It is built for everyday life, not for specialists: if you can write a message to a friend, you can ask it anything about your accounts.

What it does on an ordinary day

In the morning it tells you what matters: what came in, what went out and whether anything looks unusual, like a repeated charge or one you do not recognize. If you ask how much you spent on software this month, it adds up the charges, groups them and shows where each figure comes from. If something does not add up, it explains who charges it and since when.

It also warns you before things happen: a subscription that renews tomorrow, a payment due this week or a currency that moves and affects a payment you are expecting. And when you want to do something, like paying a supplier or moving money between your accounts, the Agent prepares the operation and shows it to you first. It is the difference between finding out about a problem after it has happened and having it in front of you in time to decide calmly what to do.

What it does not do, on purpose

Nothing moves without your "Confirm". The Agent proposes and you decide; no operation with money runs on its own, not even the ones you repeat every month. It is a design rule, not an option you can switch off, because trust in something that touches your money is earned there.

It will not tell you what to buy or sell, and it does not guess the market. It can show you a price, explain a piece of news or tell you how much a currency weighs in your income, but whether to invest or not is always your call. A good financial director helps you see clearly; it does not promise results. That is why, with the card, with transfers and with currency exchanges, the last step is always yours, with all the details in view.

How to start without complicating things

Start with a simple question about something already on your mind: how much you pay in subscriptions, how much is left this month or which payments you are expecting. The first answers will show you whether the Agent understands the way you handle money, and every question teaches it a little more about what matters to you.

Over time, the most useful thing is calm. You stop opening five apps to know where you stand, because everything is in one conversation. If you would like to try it, join the waitlist. There is nothing complicated to set up and no new program to learn: you ask, read the answer and decide what you want to do.

Your money, in a conversation.

Your account as you know it, with a financial director inside.
